Soviet espionage in the United States was when spies from the Soviet Union would sneak into the United States and try to steal important information without anyone knowing. They were able to do this by using different methods, such as pretending to be someone else, hacking computers, and even breaking into buildings. Their goal was to find out secret information about the United States so that the Soviet Union could use it to help their own country. The U.S. government knew this was happening and formed the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to try and stop the spies. Eventually they were able to catch some of the spies and the spying stopped.
