ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Standard 52-card deck

A standard 52 card deck is made up of 52 cards. Each card has a symbol and color that identify it. The four symbols are hearts (red), diamonds (red), clubs (black), and spades (black). There are fifty two cards in total, and each symbol is represented thirteen times.

The cards have numbers from one to ten, plus four “Face cards” - Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K), and Ace (A). The face cards are all worth 10 points, and the Ace can be either one or 11, whichever would be best for your hand.

Each card game is different, and will tell you what the rules for the game are. Some games use all of the cards in the deck, but others only use some of them.
