Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus is a tiny living thing, so small you can't see it with your eyes. It's like a little bug that lives on our skin and inside our noses, and sometimes it can make us sick.

Sometimes, the staphylococcus aureus can get inside our body and cause an infection. This could happen if we get a cut, scrape, or bug bite. If we're not careful about keeping these things clean, the bacteria can enter our body and cause an infection.

Sometimes, this tiny bug can even cause really serious infections like pneumonia or a blood infection. But, there are ways we can protect ourselves from getting sick. We can wash our hands often, keep cuts and scrapes clean, and try not to touch our nose, mouth, or eyes without washing our hands first.
