Trade secret

A trade secret is something that is kept a secret to help give an advantage in business. For example, a company might have a secret recipe for a special sauce that makes their burgers taste different from all the rest. They would keep this recipe a secret so that other companies couldn't copy it. Keeping the recipe a secret helps the company stay ahead of their competition.
