Transparency (data compression)

Data compression is a way of making a file or data smaller, so that it takes up less space and is faster to access. To make a file smaller, data compression removes parts of the file that are unnecessary or repetitive, so the file still contains all the same information, but with less data. Transparency is a form of data compression. It looks at the data in the file and finds ways to make it smaller without removing any of the information it contains. This means that the transparency has kept all the details from the original file, but it is now smaller and takes up less space.
