ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Y-cable

Okay kiddo, a y-cable is kind of like having two straws instead of one. You know when you go to a restaurant with a friend and you both want to drink from the same cup? So the waiter brings you two straws, right? That's like a y-cable.

But instead of straws, a y-cable is used to connect two things to one thing. Like if you have a computer with only one USB port, and you want to plug in a mouse and a keyboard, you can use a y-cable.

The y-cable has one end that goes into the computer, and then it splits off into two ends. Each end has its own connector, so you can plug in both the mouse and the keyboard at the same time.

Think of it like having two different toys to play with, but you can only play with one at a time. When you use a y-cable, you can play with both toys at once! It's pretty cool, huh?
