Cargo cults are groups of people who mimic the behaviors of other people they think will bring them good luck or things they want. They often wear clothes and act like the people they are trying to imitate, and make things like runways and control towers, even though they don't work like a real runway or control tower. They do this in the hopes that it will bring them good luck or things like food, money, and tools. Usually, it does not work that way, but the people in cargo cults keep trying because they believe it will eventually bring them the good things they want.
