ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

endoscopy

Endoscopy is a medical procedure where doctors look inside your body using a thin, flexible tube. This tube has a light and a camera at one end, and your doctor can look at pictures of what's inside your body on a monitor. Doctors use endoscopy to look inside your digestive system, lungs, and other organs, so they can look for problems like inflammation, cancer, or bleeding. Endoscopies can sometimes hurt a bit, and you may need to take medicine to help you relax before the procedure.
