ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

gauss's law

Gauss's law is a law of physics that says that the electric field around a point in space is the same in every direction. To make it easier to understand, imagine that you are standing in the middle of the room with an electric field around you. The electric field will be the same in all directions from where you are standing, no matter which way you look. Gauss's law helps us to calculate the strength of this electric field.
