ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

hyperbolic geometry

Hyperbolic geometry is like regular geometry (with things like points, lines, and shapes) but in a different way. Instead of having shapes that stay the same size, in hyperbolic geometry the shapes can get bigger and bigger and bigger the farther away from their center they get. It's like taking a flat piece of paper and curving it into a weird shape. Then you can look at things on that flat paper like shapes, lines, and points, but they will look different than on a flat piece of paper.
