thorium reactors

Thorium reactors are a type of nuclear reactor. They use a special type of fuel called thorium, which is a naturally-occurring element, to generate heat energy for electricity. This heat energy is produced when thorium atoms split apart and release energy in a process called fission. The energy is used to turn water into steam, which then spins a turbine that generates power. Thorium reactors are considered safer than other types of nuclear reactors because they produce less radioactive waste and can be shut down quickly if something goes wrong.
