Vector clocks are like a special way of keeping track of time. They keep track of the exact order in which things happen, like music notes that describe a song. They help us remember when events happen even if there are lots of things happening all at the same time. It's like the hands on a clock that measure the seconds, minutes and hours. Vector clocks measure the same thing but instead of seconds, minutes and hours, they measure the order of events.
