ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

why is cave diving so dangerous

Cave diving is dangerous because caves can be very dark, filled with tiny spaces and lots of sharp rocks. If a diver gets lost inside a cave, it can be very difficult to find their way out. Divers also have to worry about getting tangled up in ropes, running out of air, or getting hit by falling rocks. The depths of the cave can also be unpredictable, so divers have to be ready for anything.
