1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + ⋯

Imagine you have some apples, and you want to count how many apples you have. Let's start with one apple, and then add another apple next to it. How many apples do you have now? Two apples!

Now let's add just one more apple next to those two apples. How many do you have now? Three apples!

We can keep adding one more apple next to the previous ones, and each time we do, we get one more apple than before. So if we keep doing this forever, we will have an infinite number of apples.

We write this as 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + … but we never actually get to the end of the sequence. It just keeps going on and on.

So, the answer to the question "1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + …" is infinity, because we keep adding one more to the total forever.
