1-800 Contacts, Inc. v. WhenU.com, Inc.

1-800 Contacts, Inc vs. WhenU.com, Inc was a court case from 2004. It was about how 1-800 Contacts, Inc. (a company that sells contact lenses) said that it was wrong for WhenU.com, Inc (another company) to put something called "pop-up ads" on people's computer screens when they visited 1-800 contacts' website. Pop-up ads are things on your computer screen that show you ads, even when you're trying to do something else.

1-800 Contacts, Inc said that WhenU.com, Inc was wrong because they took away some of 1-800 Contacts' business. They said that WhenU.com, Inc was taking away money that 1-800 Contacts' could have made, and people were clicking on the pop-up ads instead of buying from them.

The court had to decide who was right. After a long process, the court decided that 1-800 Contacts, Inc was right and that WhenU.com, Inc had to stop putting pop-up ads on people's computer screens when they visited 1-800 Contacts' website.
