ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

101st kilometre

Okay kiddo, so let's pretend that you live on a street. The street is very long and goes on for miles and miles. But let's imagine that there is a special point on this street, and it's called the "101st kilometre."

Now, the reason why this point is special is because it's like a border. If you are on one side of this 101st kilometre point, you are in one place or country, and if you are on the other side, you are in a different place or country.

So imagine that you are standing right on the 101st kilometre point. You can see two different countries from where you are standing. You might even see two different flags or hear two different languages being spoken.

Basically, the 101st kilometre is just a way to mark the border between two places, kind of like a giant imaginary line. And it's important because it tells people where they are and what place they are in.
