1200–1300 in European fashion

Back in the olden days, 1200-1300 in Europe was a time when people dressed in clothes that were very different from what we wear today. Let's talk about some of the things that were popular during this time!

First, let's talk about men's fashion. Men would wear long tunics that went down to their knees, and they would cinch them in at the waist with a belt. They would also wear long pants or leggings that went down to their ankles. On top of their tunics, they would wear a tunic or a cloak that they would drape over their shoulders.

For women, they would wear long dresses that went all the way down to their feet. These dresses would be made from a lot of fabric and would be very heavy. They would also wear a type of cloth head covering called a wimple, which would cover their hair and neck.

One thing that was popular for both men and women during this time was wearing shoes with really pointy toes. These shoes were called poulaines, and they were so pointy that people would often stuff them with moss to keep the shape.

Another trend during this time was wearing different colors of clothing. Before this time, most people would only wear browns, blacks, and grays. But during the 1200s and 1300s, people started wearing brighter colors like reds, blues, and greens.

Lastly, let's talk about jewelry. Men and women would wear lots of different types of jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, and rings. One popular type of jewelry was called a brooch, which was a decorative pin that people would wear on their clothing.

And that's a little bit about what people wore during the 1200-1300s in Europe!
