1984 anti-Sikh riots

Okay kiddo, do you know what a riot is? No? Well, a riot is when a big group of people get really angry and start doing bad things like breaking things, hurting others, and even killing them sometimes.

So, in 1984, there was a riot that happened in India. The people who got hurt the most were called Sikhs. Sikhs are a religious group in India with a different way of life and some people didn't like that. The people who started the riot were angry because they didn't like that the Sikhs were becoming more and more powerful in the government.

The riot started when a very important leader of India was shot and killed by some Sikhs. After that, some people who were angry with Sikhs went crazy and started hurting and killing them. They destroyed their shops, homes, and even places of worship.

It was a really scary time for the Sikh people because they were being attacked for no reason other than what they believed in. Many lives were lost, and it was a sad time for India.

Now, we should always remember to treat others with love and respect, no matter what they believe in. That way, we can prevent riots like this from happening in the future.
