In 1996, there were a lot of movies that came out! Some movies were really popular, like "Independence Day" and "Mission: Impossible". These movies were about aliens and secret agents doing really cool things.

Other popular movies that year were "The Nutty Professor", where a funny man named Eddie Murphy played a scientist who turned into a big, silly cartoon character. Another movie was "101 Dalmatians", which was about a bunch of cute puppies who had to be saved from mean people who wanted to make coats out of their fur!

Some other movies that came out in 1996 were about really important things. "Schindler's List" was a very serious movie about the Holocaust, which was a terrible time in history when a lot of people were hurt and killed because of their religion. "The English Patient" was a romantic story that took place during World War II, and it won lots of awards for how well it was made.

So, in 1996, there were lots of different movies to watch! Some were funny or exciting, while others were more serious and made people think about important things that had happened in the past.
