2 Kings 16
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there were two kings named Ahaz and Rezin. King Ahaz was the king of Judah, and King Rezin was the king of Syria. They were not very good friends because they had lots of problems with each other.
One day, King Rezin decided to join forces with a different kingdom called Israel. Together, they wanted to attack Judah and take over the land. King Ahaz was very scared because he knew his army was not strong enough to beat both Syria and Israel.
So, King Ahaz tried to make friends with another powerful kingdom called Assyria. He offered to pay the king of Assyria lots of money and become his loyal subject if he would help him defeat Syria and Israel.
The king of Assyria agreed to help King Ahaz. He attacked Syria and Israel and was successful in defeating them. However, King Ahaz had to give up some of his precious treasures as payment to the king of Assyria.
In the end, King Ahaz got what he wanted, and he was able to keep his kingdom safe from his enemies. However, he had to make some sacrifices along the way to make it happen.
