The 2000s energy crisis was a period of time when the world used more energy than we could make. This meant that energy prices got very expensive and it was hard for people to afford to keep their homes lit, heat and cooled. We use energy to power our everyday lives, like running our televisions, computers and cell phones, but also to make the food we eat, the clothes we wear and the cars we drive. When there isn't enough energy, these things can become very expensive and hard to do.
