In 2002, the people in the country named Turkmenistan decided to change the names of their months and days of the week. You know how we call the months January, February, March, and so on? Well, the people in Turkmenistan used to have different names for their months, like "January" was called "Türkmenbaşy" and "February" was called "Baýdak".
But then their leader decided it was time to change things up, and they made new names for the months and days of the week. So January became "Ätiw", February became "Baýram", and so on. They chose new names based on important events or cultural traditions in their country.
Some people might have been confused at first, but eventually everyone got used to the new names. It's kind of like if your mom decided to start calling broccoli "green trees" instead. It might seem weird at first, but you'd get used to it pretty quickly!
