2006-2007 Life Peerages scandal

In 2006-2007 something called the 'life peerages scandal' happened in the United Kingdom. That means that some people were given special titles, called 'life peerages', that allowed them to be part of the House of Lords, which is a special part of the British Parliament. But some of the people who were given life peerages had done bad things like give politicians money, and that wasn't allowed. So some people got in trouble, and it led to a very big scandal. People were very angry about it!
