2007 Russia–Belarus energy dispute

In 2007, Russia and Belarus disagreed about how much oil and gas Russia should sell to Belarus. Russia said it should charge a higher price for the energy it was selling, but Belarus disagreed and wouldn't pay the extra money. This disagreement meant that Belarus had to find other sources of energy and that led to shortages in some places in Belarus. Eventually, after a lot of talks, Russia and Belarus agreed on a new price for the energy and the dispute was resolved.
