Okay kiddo, so back in 2007 there was an island in the Pacific Ocean called Yap. A lot of people lived there and everything was going fine until something called the Zika virus started spreading.
The Zika virus makes people sick, and some people who get it might not even have any symptoms. People might feel tired, have a fever, and a rash. It can also make people's joints hurt. It's not usually a really serious sickness, but it's still important to be careful.
So, the virus started spreading in Yap and a lot of people got sick. It was hard to stop because the virus can be spread by mosquitoes, so people had to try to prevent getting bitten by them.
Scientists and health workers came to Yap to investigate and see how they could help. They tried to get rid of the mosquitoes that were carrying the virus, and they gave advice to people on how to not get bitten.
Eventually, the virus stopped spreading and people got better. But it's still important to be careful if you go to a place where there might be Zika virus because it can still make people sick. So, always wear bug spray and try to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes.
