2010 Biodiversity Indicators Partnership

The 2010 Biodiversity Indicators Partnership is a group of people who work together to keep track of all the animals and plants that live on the Earth. They do this by gathering information from scientists, researchers and other people who study the environment around us.

Think of them like detectives who are trying to solve a very important case: how to make sure all the animals and plants on the Earth get the help they need to stay alive and healthy.

The Partnership uses special tools called indicators to figure out how well animals and plants are doing. These indicators are like clues that help them understand how many species are in danger, how many are growing or shrinking, and how well their habitats are being protected.

For example, an indicator could be how much of a certain type of land is being used by humans versus how much is left for animals and plants to live in. By measuring this, the Partnership can see if there is enough room for all the animals and plants to live comfortably.

The Partnership also works with countries all over the world to collect information and make sure that everyone is doing their part to take care of the environment. By working together and sharing information, they hope to create a safer and healthier world for all living things.
