ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

2011 Israeli social justice protests

Okay kiddo, so in 2011, a lot of people in Israel started feeling like their government wasn't doing a good job of making things fair for everyone. Some people had a lot of money and resources, while others were struggling to make ends meet.

These people decided to come together and protest, which means they got together in big groups and spoke out about what they wanted to change. They wanted things like better opportunities for education and jobs, and more affordable housing and healthcare.

The protests were called "social justice" protests because the protesters were fighting for a more fair and equal society, where everyone had the same chances and benefits.

People all over Israel took part in these protests, including young people, families, and people from all different backgrounds. Even though the protests didn't solve all of the problems right away, they were an important way for people to express their opinions and let their government know what they wanted.
