2011 in sumo

So, imagine you and your friends are wrestlers. You know how to do some cool moves and push each other around on a big mat.

Now, imagine that there are some really big and strong wrestlers in Japan who do this same thing but on a much bigger scale. They call it sumo wrestling.

In 2011, there were a lot of important sumo tournaments happening throughout the year. Every wrestler wanted to do their best and win the tournaments.

But, there was a big problem. Some of the top wrestlers were caught doing something they weren't supposed to do. They were secretly talking with each other and deciding the outcomes of their matches before they even happened. This is called match fixing and it's not allowed in sumo wrestling.

Lots of people were really upset about this, especially because sumo wrestling is a really important part of Japanese culture and tradition. The people who were caught cheating were punished and had to leave the sport for a while.

Even with all of this drama, there were still some really impressive matches and incredible moments that took place in sumo wrestling in 2011. It was definitely a memorable year for the sport, for better or for worse.
