ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

2013 United Nations Climate Change Conference

In 2013, many important people from different countries around the world came together to talk about something that's very important: climate change. ELI5:

Climate change is when the Earth's temperature is getting warmer because people are burning things like oil and coal, which makes pollution. This pollution traps heat in the atmosphere and causes things like extreme weather, like really hot summers or really cold winters, or even hurricanes and floods.

Now, these important people wanted to talk about how we can work together to stop climate change and make the Earth a better place for us to live. They met at something called the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The meeting was really important because it brought together experts from all over the world to talk about how we can take care of the Earth better and help stop climate change from getting worse. They talked about things like planting more trees, finding better ways to use energy, and trying to create less pollution in the air.

The leaders also talked about how everyone, including countries and people at home, can work together to help the Earth. By making small changes, like turning off the lights when we're not using them or recycling our trash, we can all make a big impact and help to take care of the Earth.

So, the United Nations Climate Change Conference was an important meeting where many smart people talked about how we can help take care of the Earth and stop climate change from getting worse, and how everyone can pitch in to help.
