2014 Bosnia and Herzegovina floods
Okay kiddo, let’s talk about the big flood that happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country in Europe with lots of mountains and rivers. In May 2014, big storms came to Bosnia and Herzegovina and it rained a lot. The rain was so heavy that it made the rivers rise and flood the towns and villages that were near them.
The flood water was very strong and it destroyed houses, buildings, and roads. Cars and trees were carried away by the water too. People were trapped inside their houses or on the roofs of their houses because they couldn't swim through the water.
The flood was very dangerous and lots of people had to run away to stay safe. People’s homes were destroyed, and they had to leave everything behind.
The government and other people from different countries helped by giving money to help rebuild houses and schools. Different organizations also came to give food, water and clothes to people who had lost everything.
It was a very sad time for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina. But people worked together to help each other and rebuild their homes.
