In the year 2014, there was an election in Budapest to choose a new mayor. Think of it like when you have to decide who gets to be the leader of your play time group. All the people who wanted to be the mayor had to tell the grown-ups why they should be picked.
In this election, there were two people mainly running for mayor. One was named Istvan and the other was named Ferenc. They were both from different groups who wanted to make Budapest better but they had different ideas about how to do that.
When it was time to vote, all the grown-ups in Budapest got to choose who they wanted to be their new mayor. People went to a special place called a polling station where they could mark on a piece of paper which of the two candidates they wanted to vote for.
The votes were then counted up by other grown-ups who were in charge of making sure everything was fair. In the end, it was decided that Ferenc won and he became the new mayor of Budapest. He then got to work on making the city a better place by doing things like fixing roads and making sure people had places to play and learn.
