2017 Bureau of Customs drug smuggling scandal

Okay kiddo, so let me tell you about the Bureau of Customs Drug Smuggling Scandal that happened in 2017.

So there's this government agency called the Bureau of Customs (BOC). Their job is to make sure that anything coming in or going out of the country follows the rules and doesn't have anything bad in it, like drugs.

Now, some people who work at the BOC were caught doing something very bad. They were helping drug smugglers bring illegal drugs into the Philippines. This is a big problem because drugs can hurt people and make them sick.

The people who were caught were arrested and brought to court to be punished for what they did. The government is also trying to make sure this doesn't happen again by making changes to how the BOC works and making sure everyone who works there is following the rules.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
