2018 Kerala floods

Okay kiddo, let's talk about something called the Kerala floods that happened in the year 2018. Kerala is a state in India, and it was hit by very heavy rainfall that caused flooding in many parts of the state.

Think about it like this: When you are in the bath and you turn the water on too much, the water might spill out of the bathtub and make a big mess in the bathroom. Well, in the same way, when there is too much rain, rivers and lakes fill up with water and if they cannot hold anymore, the water can go over the banks and make a very big mess in surrounding areas.

During the Kerala floods, the water rose so much that it was even higher than many buildings and homes in some areas. Many people were stranded, no power, and could not leave their homes. Lots of people and animals were also hurt or killed because of the flooding. It was a very scary and sad time for the people of Kerala.

Many people from all over India, as well as from other countries, came together to help out the people in Kerala. They gave money, food, medical aid, and many other things to help the people who had lost so much during the floods.

The government also did what it could to help. They sent rescue boats and helicopters to save people who were trapped in their homes, and they set up camps to shelter people who had lost their homes because of the flooding.

The Kerala floods were a very big problem for the people of Kerala, but with the help of many good people, they were able to get through it and begin to rebuild their homes and lives.
