2018 North Korea–United States Singapore Summit
The leaders of two countries, North Korea and the United States, had a meeting in Singapore in 2018. The leader of North Korea is named Kim Jong-un and the leader of the United States is named Donald Trump.
The reason they had this meeting is because North Korea and the United States have had some problems with each other in the past. North Korea has been doing things that the United States doesn't like and the United States has been doing things that North Korea doesn't like.
So, they decided to have a meeting to talk about how they can stop these problems and become friends.
During the meeting, they talked about a lot of things like getting rid of North Korea's nuclear weapons, which are weapons that can cause a lot of damage. They also talked about how they can work together to make their countries stronger and to help each other.
At the end of the meeting, they signed something called a "joint statement" which is like a promise to work towards all the things they talked about.
Even though they didn't solve everything in just one meeting, it was still a very important step towards making North Korea and the United States better friends.
