2019–2020 Hong Kong protests

The 2019-2020 Hong Kong protests are a movement of people in Hong Kong who are protesting against new laws in the city. They are asking for the government to listen to their demands and to change the laws to give Hong Kong people more freedom. The protesters are very upset about the new laws because they think the government is taking away their rights and freedoms. People in the protests have dressed in special clothing, like helmets, goggles and black masks, to protect themselves from police. They have also blocked roads and set up barricades in order to make it difficult for police to get to them. The government has tried to stop the protests by using force and by arresting protestors. Many people in Hong Kong support the protests and hope that the government will make changes that will make the city more free.
