Okay kiddo, so you know how every four years grown-ups in America get to choose who they want to be their leader? That's called an election. In 2020, everyone was getting ready to choose who they want to be their next leader, but things were a little different because of the coronavirus. People had to be careful and wear masks and social distance when they went to vote.
Now, the main people running for president were two grown-ups named Donald Trump and Joe Biden. They both had different ideas about how to make America better, and they traveled all over the country to tell people what they wanted to do if they won.
The grown-ups also had to choose who they want to be in charge of the Senate and the House of Representatives - those are like two big groups of grown-ups who make important decisions for the whole country.
When the Election Day came, people all over America went to vote and they counted all the votes to see who won. And after some time and counting all the votes, it was announced that Joe Biden won and he will be the next president of the United States.
