2020 amendments to the Constitution of Russia

Okay kiddo, so you know how countries sometimes have special laws that everyone has to follow? Well, those laws are usually written down in something called a constitution. It's like a big rule book for a whole country.

Now, in Russia, they recently changed some of the rules in their constitution. They made some new rules and changed some old ones.

One of the big changes was that the president of Russia can now stay in office for longer than before. Before, the president could only be in charge for two six-year terms. That means they could only be president for 12 years. But now, they can be president for two seven-year terms. That means they can be president for up to 14 years!

Another change they made is that the Russian government can now ignore decisions made by international courts if they go against the Russian constitution. That means if a court from another country makes a decision about something that involves Russia, Russia can choose to ignore it if they think it goes against their own rules.

There were also some other changes, like adding more power to the Russian Parliament and making it a requirement for government officials to declare all their money and property.

Overall, the changes to the Russian constitution were pretty important because they will affect how the country is run in the future.
