20th-century Western painting

20th-century western painting is art created in Europe, North America, and parts of South America during the years from 1901 to 2000. It includes paintings in a wide variety of styles, from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism to Expressionism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism. During this time, artists created beautiful and unique works of art that can still be enjoyed today. For example, Pablo Picasso's painting of a guitar is widely acclaimed as an iconic work of 20th-century western painting.
