ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

AI boom

Okay, kiddo! So did you know that there are some things that humans can do really well, like talk, write, and solve problems? And did you know that computers can do things really well too, like store information and do calculations?

Well, scientists have been working really hard to make computers even smarter, so that they can do things like humans do, and even better! They call this "artificial intelligence" or "AI" for short.

And in recent years, there has been a big increase in the development of AI technology, which is called an "AI boom." This means that there are more and more companies and scientists working on creating smarter and more capable computers using AI.

People are really excited about this because it means that we can do things like design new medicines, create better robots, and make cars that can drive themselves!

But some people are also worried about what might happen if computers become too smart and start doing things on their own without humans telling them what to do. That's why it's really important to make sure we use AI in a safe and responsible way.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
