ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

AOL TV

Hi there! Do you know how you can watch your favorite cartoons on your TV? Well, AOL (which stands for America Online) also used to have a way for people to watch TV on their computers back in the day. This was called AOL TV.

AOL TV was like a special program that people could download onto their computers. Once they had it, they could use it to watch TV shows, movies, and even play games! It was kind of like having a TV on your computer.

But, it wasn't quite as simple as turning on a regular TV. People needed to have a special adapter that would help them connect their computer to their TV. This adapter allowed people to watch what was on their computer screen on their TV.

AOL TV also had something called a TV guide. This was like a menu that showed all the different shows people could watch. They could choose what they wanted to watch, and then it would show up on their TV.

So, that's what AOL TV was! It was a special program that people could download onto their computers to watch TV shows and movies. They could even use it to play games!
