An apse is like a little room at the back of a church. It's like a half-circle shape and you can usually see it from the outside of the church building. The apse is where the altar is usually located, which is where the special things happen during the church service. It's like a special space that's really important to the church. So, when you see a church with a big half-circle shape at the back, you can know that's where the apse is!
