Abhinaya

Abhinaya is a type of acting that comes from India. It's part of a dance form called Bharatanatyam. Abhinaya is when the dancer uses their face, hands, and body to tell a story or convey emotions without saying any words. It's like using your body as a language to tell a story.

When a dancer does abhinaya, they might use their eyebrows to show surprise or anger, their eyes to show happiness or sadness, and their hands to make gestures that stand for different things, like a flower or a bird.

Abhinaya is really important in Bharatanatyam because it helps the audience understand what's going on in the story without having to hear any words. It's like watching a really good movie with great actors - even if you don't understand the language they're speaking, you can understand what's happening because of the way they're acting.
