Abortion and the Catholic Church in the United States

Abortion is when a woman goes to a doctor to stop a baby from growing inside her tummy. The Catholic Church is a group of religious people who believe in God and follow the teachings of a man named Jesus. The Catholic Church doesn't like abortion because they believe that every life is sacred, including the life of a baby before it is born.

In the United States, the Catholic Church tries to stop laws that allow abortion because they believe it is wrong. They also try to convince people not to have abortions by talking to them or giving them information about other options, like adoption.

Some people, even some Catholics, believe that women should have the right to make their own choice about having an abortion. This is a complicated issue that people have different beliefs about. The Catholic Church wants to protect the lives of unborn babies, while other people believe in protecting the freedom and rights of women.
