Abortion law in the United States by state

Okay, so you know how sometimes when you have a toy you don't really want to play with anymore, you can give it to someone else or even throw it away? Well, sometimes people decide that they don't want to have a baby growing inside of them anymore. This is called an abortion.

In the United States, each state gets to make their own rules about abortion. Some states say that it's okay to have an abortion no matter what. Other states say that it's only okay in certain situations, like if the person is in danger or the baby has a problem.

There are also some states that try to make it really hard to get an abortion. They might make it so that you have to wait a really long time or show a lot of paperwork before you can have the procedure. Some people think this is good because it makes sure that people are really sure they want an abortion, but other people think it's bad because it makes it really hard for people who need an abortion to get one.
