Academic skepticism

Academic skepticism is a way of thinking that encourages people to question all kinds of ideas, and to look at things in a careful and critical way. It means looking at evidence, such as research findings or theories, and being open to the possibility that they could be wrong or not as reliable as they seem. It also means being thoughtful and suspicious of claims made by other people, and being willing to challenge these claims and look for evidence to back them up. In short, it means not just taking what somebody tells you at face value, but instead being curious and digging deeper to make sure that you understand things correctly.
