So, imagine that your leg is like a car. And just like a car has tires, your leg has muscles that help you move around. One of these muscles is called the calf muscle and it is located at the back of your leg.
Now, just like how a car has a cable that connects the gas pedal to the engine, your calf muscle has a strong rope-like cord called the Achilles tendon that connects it to your heel bone.
Sometimes, if your leg moves in an unexpected way or if you put too much pressure on it, the Achilles tendon can snap or break. This is like if the cable in your car's gas pedal suddenly broke.
When this happens, you might hear or feel a pop in the back of your leg, and it can be very painful. You might not be able to walk or stand on the affected leg, and it might feel weak or numb.
But don't worry! With some rest, physical therapy, and maybe even surgery, your leg can heal and you'll be back to moving around and playing again soon.
