Act Zluky

Alright kiddo, so the act zluky is a really big deal for Ukraine. Basically, a long time ago, Ukraine used to be part of different countries and didn't have its own government. But the people of Ukraine wanted to be their own country and make their own decisions.

So in 1917, when World War I was going on, Ukraine declared independence and became its own country. But it didn't last very long because other countries and armies started fighting over Ukraine and taking control of it.

Fast forward a bit to 1918, and different parts of Ukraine were controlled by different groups. The western part was controlled by a government called the Western Ukrainian National Republic, and the eastern part was controlled by the Ukrainian People's Republic.

But the people of Ukraine really wanted to be united and have one independent country. So, on January 22, 1919, representatives from both governments signed a document called the act zluky.

This document basically said that the two parts of Ukraine were going to join together and become one country. It was a really important moment in Ukrainian history because it meant that Ukraine was finally united as one independent nation.

Today, people still celebrate the act zluky and see it as a symbol of unity and independence for Ukraine. So it's pretty special and important!
