ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Adaptive behaviors

Adaptive behaviors are things that people do to help them deal with their environment. They're like skills that people learn so that they can survive and thrive. For example, if you're in a cold place, you might learn to wear warm clothes and stay near a fire to keep warm. As you get older, you learn even more adaptive behaviors to help you survive, like learning to cook or garden so that you have food. Adaptive behaviors help us all live better lives!
