ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Adaptive reasoning

Adaptive reasoning is like playing with Legos. You start with a small number of basic pieces and then use your imagination to make all kinds of cool things.

For example, imagine you have 10 blue Lego blocks and 10 red Lego blocks. You can use them to make a simple tower, like building blocks straight up. But adaptive reasoning lets you take those same blocks and use them in different ways to make many different things - maybe a car or a castle or a rocket ship!

Adaptive reasoning is using your brain to think in new and creative ways, to come up with different ideas and solutions. Just like building with Legos, you can use the same basic tools (like your brain) to come up with all kinds of different things.

And just like with Legos, the more you practice adaptive reasoning, the better you get at it. So keep exploring and building new things with your brain!
