Administration for Native Americans

So, a long long time ago, there were people who lived in North America called Native Americans. They were there first and they had their own way of doing things, like how they hunted for food, and what they believed in. But then some people from Europe came over and wanted to take over their land and make it their own.

The new people didn't like the way the Native Americans did things, so they decided to make rules for them to follow. They called this the "Indian Administration". It was supposed to help the Native Americans, but sometimes it made things worse for them.

For example, the new people thought that the Native Americans should live like them, in houses and cities instead of in their own way. So, they made the Native Americans move to reservations, which were like big plots of land where they could live. But sometimes these reservations were far away from the land that the Native Americans had always lived on, which made it hard for them to hunt and gather food like they used to.

The new people also forced the Native Americans to send their kids to schools where they were punished for speaking their own language or doing things their own way. This made some Native Americans forget how to speak their language or follow their traditions.

Overall, the administration for Native Americans was a way for the new people to control the Native Americans and force them to live like they did. But it was not always helpful or fair to the Native Americans.
